Detox Water, The Healthy & Fruity Drink

Detox water recipe - Lilie Bakery

A healthy drink recipe, quick to prepare, without added sugar! Detox water has everything to seduce us. We can vary it ad infinitum! I love to sip it all day long as soon as the sun shows its first rays ...

Detox water is typically the kind of drink you want to enjoy when the temperatures rise! It's fresh, thirst-quenching and really very easy to prepare.

What is detox water?

It is THE trendy, healthy and fruity drink. This is a mixture of fresh water and fresh fruit, nothing more! No need for syrup or sugar. There is no no added sugar inside (only fruits). It is neither a lemonade, nor a fruit juice, but a water which aromatizes naturally on contact with the fruits immersed in the jar.

The very positive side of this drink is that it is full of vitamins and antioxidants, something to cool off and do your body good at the same time.

How to prepare a detox water?

To quickly prepare a detox water, bring a large glass or a mason jar jar (with a handle it is very practical). The advantage of the jar is that it has a lid where you can plant a reusable steel straw (more ecological and sustainable).

We mainly use fresh water. You can filter it beforehand with a piece of activated carbon, but it's optional. Pour the water into the jar or tall glass.

Then just cut 1 lemon, sliced and add it to the water. We then complete with the fresh fruit of our choice (depending on the season). Here I added raspberries, this is delicious ! We can also add mint for an even more refreshing drink.

It only remains to leave it minimum 30 minutes in the refrigerator the time it macerates a little, the fruits will be able to reveal all their aroma. I also recommend adding very ripe fruit, it will be even better ...

Ideas for variations / substitutions for this recipe

Sparkling water : to replace plain water, why not try making a detox water with sparkling water?

Coconut water : if you like its softness, don't hesitate to vary it by using it instead of plain water

Lime : to change lemon, use lime!

The perfect fruits for a detox water : strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrant, orange, grapefruit, kiwi, peach, apple but also cucumber!
