Smurf Candy Ice Cream

Smurf Candy Ice Cream | Lilie bakery 4A must for foodies, young and old!

For my first ice cream recipe, I made it original! (I inaugurate by this occasion, the category “ice creams & sorbets” of the blog).

Whether you like the Smurfs cartoon or not, you must definitely (as a self-respecting foodie) love Smurfs candy!

Well, today they are at the heart of my recipe ...

Their sweet and tangy side is perfect in “frozen” version and this beautiful turquoise color, pretty isn't it?

The texture obtained is very smooth, and is very similar to that of frozen yogurt.

Recipe for about 800ml of ice cream

- In a saucepan, heat 10cl of whole liquid cream. Melt 300g of Smurf candies (1 bag), until a smooth blue cream is obtained. Reserve.

- In a container, mix 3 egg yolks (extra-fresh, this is important because they will not be cooked) and 10g of caster sugar.

- Add 25cl of whole milk and mix again.

- Whip 25cl of whole liquid cream into whipped cream, and incorporate this whipped cream into the previous mixture. Mix well. Pass through Chinese to remove any lumps.

- Pour the blue cream of the Smurfs in the ice cream mixture, mix well to make the color uniform.

- Switch on the ice cream maker, pour the preparation into the machine and leave to churn for about 45 minutes.

- Then place in the freezer for several hours to optimize the texture.

Enjoy!

NB: The ice thus obtained will keep for up to 1 week in the freezer.

I followed another recipe for ice cream with it's candy, it was necessary to let the preparation rest overnight, and as I was too inpatient I took it out a few hours before, and the preparation has gel, and since I don't dare to do it again for fear of missing out because the level was great but on the other hand the texture was quite disgusting… So I would like to know if the preparation gels?

Hello, I do not advise you to let the mixture stand before putting it in your ice cream maker because, indeed, the gelatin in the candies will solidify the mixture. Good recipe then!

    Hello,
I just stumbled across your recipe a bit by chance and it looks really nice =) my darling loves smurf ice cream and it would surely make him happy to taste a house! =)
The only problem is that I don't have an ice cream maker = S does that change a lot of things? Would there be a way to achieve it without?

    Hello,
I really want to make this recipe. However, I wonder how long to let the mixture cool before pouring it into the ice cream maker. Because as said previously, there is a risk that it will gel. Thank you :)

Hello, to prevent the Smurf preparation from gelling, it should not be refrigerated, just let it cool before continuing with the rest of the recipe (before adding it to the creamy mixture). @ soon!

so I tried your recipe with the same dosage, but it didn't work, it looks like you're missing milk

if you can shed some light on it, thank you;)

Hello Fanny, I thought I answered you, sorry!
You can do it without an ice cream maker, the difference is that you will get a less creamy, more frozen ice cream, because it will not have cooled by being beaten, like the ice cream maker does. @ soon!

I don't understand myself in the ice cream makers, the gelatine (smurf candies) hardened the ice cream which gave a sort of unpleasant gelatinous foam and yet I followed the recipe correctly ......

    Hello everyone !
I have just tested this recipe, the result is perfect and the volume is very interesting: the preparation barely fits in a box of 500g 1000ml ice cream!
    My advice :
. melt the candies at the last moment, otherwise they will be too frozen to be well incorporated
. use a food processor for the whipped cream, then still with the whisk – low speed, incorporate the egg-sugar-milk preparation and finish with the lukewarm melted sweets by increasing the speed of the whisk.
. before pouring into the ice cream maker, mix well with a spatula
I turned for 30 minutes in the ice cream maker (KitchenAid): the consistency was good.
I think they changed the colorings because the preparation is light in color, but the taste is there: regressive as you wish!
