Window Cookies - Stained Glass Biscuits

A little idea for the approaching Mother's Day ...

Why not make this batch of 'Window Cookies' or 'Biscuits Vitraux'?

It is no more and no less than a batch of chocolate shortbread cookies, with a pink heart, mounted on a stick like cookie pops.

But how did I make this pretty transparent pink heart? (I can already see you asking yourself the question in front of your screen…!).

… Well… With sour candies, which I melted in the oven.

To find out everything, here is the recipe explanation below.

  •  Stained Glass Biscuits x12

- Make a batch of chocolate shortbread cookies according to my recipe [by dividing the quantities by 2]. To find her, click here.

- Lower the cookie dough on your work surface, to a thickness of 0,5cm.

- Using a cookie cutter, cut out the desired shapes (stars for me).

- Place the shapes on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, then cut out the heart inside the shapes to 'hollow out' them.

- Preheat the oven to 165 ° traditional heat.

- Plant a stick at the bottom of each star, taking care not to push it in too far, because it must not be seen on the other side. Then gently flip the shape.

- Chill for 5 minutes so that the shape keeps well during cooking. Then bake for 7 minutes.

- Meanwhile, make the candy powder by putting 15 pink acidulated candies in a freezer bag. Hit the bag with a small hammer to crush them.

- Remove the cookie sheet and place candy powder in each 'heart'. Return to cook for 5 minutes.

- Take out then let cool on your work surface.

- Gently peel off the lollipops thus produced then decorate the sticks as you wish: tape, masking tape, etc.
